Code of Practice for Statistics

UCAS takes pride in the quality, trustworthiness, and value of the analysis and statistics it publishes about higher education (HE). Adherence on a voluntary basis to the Code of Practice for Statistics allows us to evidence and demonstrate these aspects of our work.

The Code of Practice for Statistics (the Code) defines a set of standards for official statistics to give users confidence that published statistics demonstrate public value, are of high quality, and are produced by people and organisations that are trustworthy. The Code can also be applied on a voluntary basis by other producers of statistics.

UCAS formally committed to voluntary application of the Code on 2 September 2019, and a case study based on our adoption has been published by the UK Statistics Authority.

In October 2020 UCAS was highly commended for excellence in our voluntary adoption of the Code, in the First Voluntary Application of the Code Award.
